Frequently Asked Question!

It is completely normal for a carnivorous plant to change its leaves after a certain period of time. For pitcher plants this will be at the end of the summer, when the plant is digesting the trapped insects. When the leaves are completely brown they can be cut away.

Carnivorous plants grow in nature on moist and poor soil (very often in swamps). It is due to the lack of food in the soil that the plants have adapted over time to be able to obtain food from insects. In cultivation it is therefore important to always keep the soil of the plant very moist! In spring and summer the plant can be kept in a bowl of water all the time, in winter the plant goes dormant and is sufficient to keep the soil moist. An extremely important rule: ONLY give carnivorous plants rainwater and never water from the tap. Water from the tap contains lime and is disinfected by society, this is a highway to death for a carnivorous plant!
